I was just reading somewhere that the occupancy rates for Austin and Houston are dropping. This is what we expected but I think the numbers were a bit higher than we expected. To my surprise the report said that average rents had risen. I know the report must be behind a little because I know that Austin apartments are seeing a drop in rent right now. Houston apartments are seeing almost the same effect. I would imagine with the occupancy rates still dropping that rent has to continue to get cheaper over the year. I think Houston apartments will probably see a bigger drop than Austin, but that is just speculation. I will be expecting to see a lot of specials for move in and free rent here in the near future. Everybody better get ready to take advantage of the opportunity this year because I don't think this will last for too long.
